It's official. Renewables are all the rage. Every Electricity Supply Company in the UK is required to meet Government targets set by the Renewables Obligation Order and boost the production of electricity from renewables sources to 15.4% by 2015/16.

In order to meet these targets, suppliers must obtain Renewable Obligation Certificates (ROCs) or pay a hefty payment into a special fund. ROCs can be bought in an on-line auction, set up by NFPAS.

Kinghorn-Davies were appointed by NFPAS which auctions ROCs on behalf of a number of clients, including Scottish Power Retail and Scottish and Southern Energy and plans to expand the auction service further. We handle strategic marketing support and public relations for the new ROC auctions for NFPAS, a subsidiary of the Non-Fossil Purchasing Agency.

We have introduced a new name and corporate identity for the auction, known as e-ROC, a brand new website, www.e-roc.co.uk, providing information to ROC sellers about how the e-ROC online auction works. New customers to the auction service were recruited through a specially targeted direct marketing campaign and editorial in the specialist power, environmental and industry sectors. Attendance at specialist exhibitions has further promoted the service.
