Kinghorn-Davies

When Alstom Power, with 80,000 employees in 70 countries and sales of nearly 19 billion Euros, embarked on a major new project to integrate all of their IT systems into one Enterprise Resource Planning system they instantly turned to Kinghorn-Davies to help devise and implement a communications plan.

The project, to be called PowerMax, was regarded as essential to the future development of the company’s global business and would entail major changes to internal procedures company-wide, which would inevitably meet with resistance.

Working closely with the PowerMax management team, we developed a plan to educate and inform employees at each stage of the project, through system design, build, and deployment, As the project was rolled out from one country to the next, the comms plan was modified to account for regional variations and changes to the PowerMax program itself.

A PowerMax brand was designed to work alongside the Alstom corporate identity, creating an immediately recognisable style for all PowerMax messages. Information boards, posters, display panels, internal newsletters, bulletins, presentation materials and various branded promotional items - including PowerMax shirts - were all used to encourage acceptance of the new systems. The majority of materials were set up as templates so that each country could easily adopt the plan and take responsibility for their own communications activities.

The program is currently rolling out across Europe, the Americas and the Far East with great success.
